Rubber MountsRPM Mechanical’s rubber mounts including rubber shock mounts, sandwich mounts, and vibration control allow torque and pressure to be absorbed into the rubber connection minimizing stress on the objects connected by the mount.Stud/Plate mounts are known throughout the industry by several names including: rubber sandwich mounts, rubber shock mounts, rubber mounts, bumpers, feet, shear mounts, cylindrical mounts, isolators, levelers, and insulators. Industrial sized rubber mounts are designed to provide superior attenuation of medium to high frequency vibration and noise emanating from a wide range of motor driven machines particularly axial and centrifugal fans.
Small rubber mounts are designed for light duty applications which still require a high degree of vibration and noise reduction at medium to low frequencies. Each contain high resilience rubber with low dynamic to static stiffness ratio ensuring maximum efficiency, good creep performance and long service life.
Rectangular rubber mounts, also known as sandwich mounts, are widely used as engine mounts in road vehicles and mobile construction plants. In the larger sizes they are used as vehicle suspension springs and as mountings for acoustic chambers, hoppers and various types of heavy plant installation.
The rubber in the mounting is bonded between two metal plates with holes at each end for fitting. Some designs incorporate steel interleaves for increased load capacity. The rubber sandwich mounts are best used in shear and compression but may be loaded directly in shear or compression. Rubber shock mounts are highly effective in reducing the transmission of vibration, structure borne noise and shock from a wide range of rotating and reciprocating machinery and in protecting a sensitive apparatus from external disturbances.
